We were excited to receive the Fellowes Star Manual Comb Binding Machine, as we homeschool our two daughters and we’ve wanted one of these for a while. First impressions were that it’s pretty big and clunky – at first we were worried about finding room for it, but we ended up finding a perfect spot for it on our bookshelf, next to our computer desk. The instructions were pretty clear on everything except how to put the combs in properly, but it was easy enough to figure out with about two minutes of trial and error.
It’s a quality, sturdy machine that has worked perfectly for our home use, and I’d imagine it would work well in a small office setting as well. I love the fact that it’s completely wireless and works so smoothly with little effort. Another nice aspect is the paper guide to determine the size of comb you need for your project. One thing I would have changed is the comb tray – if you try to store anything more than a single, flat layer of combs, you risk your combs being bent as there just isn’t enough room. Aside from that minor caveat, everything else has functioned beautifully.
I cannot stress enough how great this comb binder is for homeschooling. Our kids love being able to make their projects look professional, and the fact that they should stand the test of time is nice to know. For home use with small or even some bigger projects, I can definitely recommend the Fellowes Star Manual Comb Binding Machine.

Lightweight and functional. I have used this with no problems. You do have to make sure the paper is pushed in deep enough to make clean cuts. I suggest practicing a few times to get the hang of it.

|modern look without lost functionality,
I am very happy with the product. It looks very good and takes less space as compared to other binders. It can punch through 10 sheets easily. I can use up to 1 inch combbinds with it.
